Education and Professional Experience
Dr. Michael R. Fausel studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Konstanz. He completed his legal traineeship in Stuttgart, Heilbronn, and London (UK). Prior to that, he studied at the University of Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg, graduating with the degree “Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH)” (Graduate in Public Administration), combined with work for the Deutsche Rentenversicherung.
Following his studies, Dr. Fausel worked at the international law firms CMS Hasche Sigle and Simmons & Simmons LLP. Prior to founding BLUEDEX – Labour Law, he worked from 2011 to 2016 at the international law firm Beiten Burkhardt, particularly as a partner, where he was responsible for the firm’s global mobility / secondment practice.
In order to focus even more intensively on (international) employment and social security law, he founded BLUEDEX – Labour Law in 2016.
Dr. Fausel speaks German, English, French, and Spanish.

Areas of Expertise and Practice
Dr. Michael R. Fausel advises international corporations, medium-sized businesses, and public-sector entities on all matters relating to labor and social security law. He specializes in international labor law (employee secondment and temporary agency work), employment contract drafting, restructuring measures, and unfair dismissal litigation. Dr. Fausel also advises numerous companies on matters of works constitution law (particularly works agreements, reconciliation of interests, and social plans) as well as collective bargaining law.
Dr. Fausel is a speaker at numerous events organized by law associations, educational institutions, and companies on topics relating to employment and secondment law, and is a permanent lecturer for the publishing house C.H. Beck. He also served as an advisor to a German federal ministry during the legislative reform process of the German Temporary Employment Act (Arbeitnehmerüberlassungsgesetz).
Dr. Fausel is the initiator of the secondment initiative “Arbeits-WELT-Recht” and previously served on the supervisory board of the auditing and tax consulting firm Lehleiter + Partner AG.
In addition, he is a lecturer at Hochschule Fresenius and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and also acts as an arbitrator appointed by the Frankfurt Bar Association in matters of employment and secondment law.
Furthermore, Dr. Fausel serves on the expert advisory board of VIB – Verband Internationaler Banken in Deutschland e.V..
